Pier-Olivier Mouton his name is and he doesn't sound to bad by the way his first game went, should be a good pick up. He just came from the Montreal Canadiens Rookie Camp.

surprise surprise surprise. another player from out east.. i have no problem with the north bringing in a couple of players from the east as some boys do not want to head that far north to play(this excuse is getting old), but this is looking like the new york yankees of the aj. you mob fans can say mr t won coach of the year all you want but he is not that great of a caoch. HE BUYS TEAMS. if he is such a good coach, why cant he teach his players his systems and win with that. PROBABLY BEACAUSE HE IS NOT A GOOOOOD COACH. mob lucky to make final 4 unless they buy more eastern players. i predict either saints storm or pontiacs in top 2 of the north. good luck mob in buying your team.

think you buy TEAMS you may buy players but it still takes a good coach to mold a TEAM.

Its a least nice to see the MOB out scouting / recruiting players. Call it what you want.....the franchise wants too win hockey games. How they do it is their business. ;)

Haven't said much this year, being that with the new addition to the family I haven't been to any games yet! However, I am going to comment on this.
First thing is that one player does not make a team.
Also, with players coming from over east every year, it is pretty easy to say that gord has some sort of ties there. I also think that it helps that he is an agent.
Next is that every coach has their flaws. Does a couple little flaws make him a bad coach? No, just not a perfect one. Every coach in the AJHL has something bad to say about him. But these accusations flying around does not make a bad coach, just not a perfect one.
Next, I really don't care how we get a team, as long as we win! :D And if we were buying out entire team, then I doubt that we would be struggling in the different positions we are. ;)

. Every coach in the AJHL has something bad to say about him. . ;)
The biggest complaints are that he did it before they thought of it.;)

the only problem with your logic is that you fail to appreciate that Gord T has had success whereever he has coached, be it Lloydminster, Fort Saskatcheway, St. Albert, or Fort Mc. I guess they are all money teams heh?

If by success you mean never actually winning anything.... then yes he was very successful in all those places.

he has been a very successful coach in the regular season I am assuming thats what he means. his win loss record should be very good, just trouble winning it all, untill last season.

I know that the year we won the RBC, in 2000, I think we played Lloyd in the first round of playoffs with Gord at the helm. It might have been 2nd round, not sure, but that Lloyd team was by far our biggest competition that year. We played Kods in the final, and they were a cakewalk compared to Lloyd that year. Gord has always had a good team, no matter where he coached. No, he didn't win the big one till last season, but you have to admit he was in the race many times. I believe he took the Kods to game 7 a few years back when they won it all too. There are plenty of coaches who have not won the championship, does that make them bad coaches? This is the first team Gord has been with that has had money to spend, I think people need to remember that. He has coached for years and has always been in the thick of things.

I do believe Gord is under contract for 3 years with the MOB.

There is no question that GT is a good coach regardless of having problems winning the big one so to speak but a candidate for the Oilers new junior team coach, no way. He will not be able to intimidate players on a WHL team like he has in junior A. He probably is making more money now than many of the WHL coach's anyway but he would be closer to his St. Albert home which I think he still maintains.

Ya... he did pretty good his first game... but does anybody know why he's been scratched the last two games ( in SP, and home to Bonny)????
