Bandits are moving a lot of players. Fauth sat out for Saturdays game with Nelson. Nelson was traded so you must be led to think that Fauth is being shipped out to. The Bandits are still short a forward but rumours of a trade with GP have been around. Grande Prairie still owes them a player from the Thomas Stehr trade earlier in the year. The bandits are also missing a seventh defencemen. Who knows if they'll fill this spot or just trust the six they have. For those of you who missed Fridays game, you'll see that the team is definately not folding the tent. That was the most spirited they have played all year. I look forward to seeing who Kevin Higo will bring in before the deadline.

Heard Higo wanted a bag of pucks for Stehr but Fran thought he was asking too much;)

The Melville Millionaires have traded 1986 D Chris de Bruyn to the Brooks Bandits (AJHL) for 1986 F Mark Nelson. de Bruyn had spent two and a half seasons with the Mils, but did not return to the team following the Christmas Break. He returns closer to his hometown of Calgary. In Nelson, the Mils get some offensive punch up front. The 1986 born native of Hayter AB was leading the Bandits in scoring with 14-goals and 23-assists in 41-games this season.

Why would you ever trade you 2nd top scorer for a player that had not reported back to his team after Xmas, surely you could pick a player like that up for a 3rd or 4th liner??????

The answer is simple--they say you've gotta have heart. Hopefully the Bandits are making some positive moves in that direction. Word is Higo ain't done yet. Me thinks the old Lakeside Arena will be rocking Friday night. The boys left standing after the trade deadline will have something to prove. Don't count this team out quite yet. Higo has a way of making his players fear him more than they fear any opposition.

Chris Debruyn has been in Brooks for a few days. Thats old news. Debruyn has been a top defencemen in the SJHL for a few years. This was a good pick up for the Bandits. They needed a solid offensive defensemen and I think they found it in Debruyn. He will be a good anchor on the power play.

I say great trade for Brooks as Nelson was soft and not going to help when things are tough.
