The Storm have acquired 19 year old D-Man Bobby Tyson from the Powell River Kings. Tyson, 5' 11" and 175 lb, played 77 games for the River Kings and scored 6 goals, 10 assists and drew 64 pim.
Tyson played for Vandekamp last year with the River Kings and was aquired for futures.
Mike must have brought him in to answer the Kodiaks bush league tactics, he's a native of The Woodlands, Texas.;)

Well whatever the reason, they do need help on D. Maybe just early season nerves or still learning system but I did not think the D looked all that strong on the weekend.

With their new coach, may be the vets including the forwards are still learning the new system. They still need D-men that could be fearlesss and tough like Dean Petiot or Cam Dion from the Kodiaks. Fearless are something either you have it or you don't.

You have got to be joking, right? They lose in overtime the first game ,and they lose 3-0 to the league champs from last year and you say the Defence is the prob?Sure they have a few rookies, that need to get their feet wet,but last i looked there were a lot more forwards that missed the net .It takes goals to win games, just like it takes goaltending and defence . Don't go hanging the defence out to dry .:)

Three losses to start the season, all at home!
The Storm will have to work their way through the challenges of new routines and systems under their new coach, minus a number of highly skilled offensive players who moved on at the end of last year.
Maybe the best thing is to get on the road and try to get things right.
