Mason received a phone call from Mark Messier and was asked to play for Team Canada at the 2010 IIHF World Championship.

The Canucks were knocked out of the playoffs for the 2nd straight year in round two by the Hawks. Team Canada lost Captain Ryan Smith to injury.

Mason Raymond and Devan Dubnyk (goalie with Edmonton) were the last two additions made to Team Canada.

Sweater No. 21 was not available to Mason. He will wear No. 11, the same No. he had in college.
